The life you love
is already
here
flawed, broken,
desperate, violent
shouting its fears
in your face
sobbing itself
into stillness.
It is also
the tiny
daring
chirp
in the dark
before the sun
has bled
through the night.
You have the capacity
to love
this tumult,
this long walk
on shifting
Slipping
scree.
How do I know?
Because I love it
and you are me
as you.
We ARE life—
the divine and the human—
unfettered and
out of control and
scared to the very edge
of death. Still
we call to each other
in the dark.
We dare
a song
before there is any
cause for it.
The life you love
is already
here.
