How to Be a Poet Every Day

Updated: Jun 18, 2020

Show up.

Bring your body.

Breathe.

Oblige

the silence.

Listen with

everything.

Let yourself

look. Stop often

for this.

Forget

about time.

Wander

as needed.

Move toward

what calls

to you.

Walk

side by side

with whoever

is there--

grief, longing,

ghost, child,

chipmunk.

Remember

eventually

to pick up

your pen.

See what

happens.

Thank

your hand

and heart

for their service.

Be clear

you want more

tomorrow.
