I slowed down
to eternity time
and the yellow rose
showed me
how life unfolds
not as a line
or a river
but an eddy,
a circular current
rippling out
from a still center
petal cascading
against petal—
butter bright
and pillow soft—
breathing and
broadening
in an astonishing
display, a spiral
of beingness
lavish, plausible,
obvious in a way—
of course,
this is how it works!
how a moment opens
asking for nothing
but your attention
and offering everything
in return.
